Please remove all items from your kitchen, except from inside the cabinets and refrigerator. This includes anything you may have displayed on top of your upper cabinets, on the back of your stove, on top of your refrigerator, artwork on the walls, and anything on top of the counter.

Absolutely Amazing Refinishing, Inc Employees will not move any personal effects whatsoever. If items remain in the kitchen at the time, refinishing work will not be completed. The new finish applied to your counters will be sprayed on, and we don’t want to over spray on any of your personal effects. A plastic barrier will temporarily be erected during the application to prevent any of this material from spreading to the rest of the apartment.

Some of the chemicals have a strong odor. During application, the front door is left open with the ventilation fans in use to aid in the removal of these odors. If you have a pet, make sure it is confined to a different room.

There may be a little remaining odor in your apartment, this is normal and will dissipate shortly. Do not put any items on your new counter surface for at least 48 hours. Even though it may feel dry to the touch it takes 48 hours for the finish to harden. Putting a microwave on it, or a heavy pot may mar the finish. After 48 hours, the finish becomes very hard and durable, and you may use it and clean it in a normal fashion. It should be cleaned with a liquid cleaner such as Greased Lightning or with a soapy sponge and warm water. Never use abrasive cleaners such as Ajax, Comet, even Soft Scrub or bleach.
